What happens when bluegrass luminaries Ricky Skaggs, Jerry Douglas, Wes Golding, and Terry Baucom teamed up? The wild, way-ahead-of-its-time 1977 self-titled debut from Boone Creek. Boone Creek defied all previously-accepted boundaries of the bluegrass genre.

Bluegrass harmonies? Absolutely.

Dobro and banjo fireworks? Of course.

Horns, synths, drums, soft-rock textures, and jam-band looseness? Also yes.

The album showcases the dazzling musicianship and fiery chemistry of four bluegrass masters coming together to form Boone Creek.  Years after its original release, when it came time to collect the tapes, the band discovered that the engineer had absconded with them. After a years-long search, the tapes were recovered – moldy and badly damaged. Through intensive restoration, four previously unreleased bonus tracks were rescued, featuring the band’s most uncharted material. Out of print for nearly five decades, Boone Creek, finally returns to vinyl. Additionally, it is making its long-awaited debut on CD and streaming platforms.
